Program of Study

The MA degree is 12 courses (36 credits). Courses can be taken on-line, in a hybrid fashion, or residentially during the summer depending on one's chosen track.

For the hybrid online track students will be required to come to campus during the summer, for at least 2 symposia courses and the capstone course. These three campus visits will be 3-4 days, usually during the third week of June.

Beyond the use of computers and technology for academic writing and research, online students will be expected to use the video and audio functions of a computer or iPhone to participate in online zoom discussions or webinars. Students should also become familiar with the basic platforms used by online instructors at Notre Dame, especially the Sakai learning management system.
