The Whole Is Greater Than Its Parts: Introducing a New Publication on the Catholic Church and Its Ecumenical and Interreligious Relationships.
January 29, 9:00-10:00 am (EDT/New York time)
We are delighted to invite you to a Zoom panel featuring His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Bishop Brian Farrell, and Sr. Marie-Hélène Robert to discuss the importance of the newly published book The Whole Is Greater than Its Parts: Encountering the Interreligious and Ecumenical Other in the Age of Pope Francis. Featuring a Foreword by Cardinal Walter Kasper and an Afterword by Cardinal Robert Sarah, The Whole is Greater than Its Parts offers careful and innovative discussions regarding the future the Catholic Church in its relationships with other Christians and with non-Christian believers, including Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists. Special attention is given to the direction given to these relationships by Pope Francis. Organized by Peter Casarella, Duke University Divinity School and Gabriel Said Reynolds, Notre Dame Theology, World Religions World Church. All are welcome.
