Dr. Keith J. Egan to receive an honorary degree at the 2020 Saint Mary's College Commencement Ceremony

Dr. Keith J. Egan, the Joyce McMahon Hank Aquinas Chair in Catholic Theology Emeritus and guest professor in theology at the University of Notre Dame, will receive an honorary degree at the Saint Mary's College Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Egan is an international scholar on historical and medieval theology, Christian and Carmelite spirituality, mysticism and monasticism. He joined the Saint Mary’s faculty in 1983 and held the endowed chair position at the college from 1997 to 2006. He founded the Center for Spirituality at Saint Mary’s in 1984 and served as its director until 2002. During his time, he developed the Madeleva Lecture Series, which continues today, to give voice to women scholars in the discipline of theology.
