Location: 140 DeBartolo Hall

The Kellogg Institute's Africa Working Group Proudly Presents:

Jean-Marie Teno's Le Malentendu Colonial (The Colonial Misunderstanding)

After the screening, Teno will open the floor for questions.

Jean-Marie Teno explores European colonialism in Africa through the lens of Christian evangelism as a model of the relationship between Africa and western countries today. Focusing on German colonialism in Namibia, Teno draws on the knowledge of African and German historians and theologians, revealing how colonialism destroyed African beliefs and social systems and replaced them with European ones.
