Philip Gleason, Notre Dame professor emeritus of history, will present a public plenary address to the American Catholic Historical Association during its spring meeting. Gleason, who taught in Notre Dame's history department for more than three and a half decades, is author of Contending with Modernity: Catholic Higher Education in the 20th CenturyKeeping the Faith: American Catholicism Past and Present; and Speaking of Diversity: Language and Ethnicity in 20th-Century America.
