Biography

Gabriel Said Reynolds reads the Qur’an as part of the world that produced it — a world shaped by the Bible, late antique theology, and the search for God. He did a PhD at Yale (2003) and is currently the Crowley Professor of Islamic Studies and Theology at Notre Dame.

His works, including The Qur’an and the Bible (Yale, 2018), Christianity and the Qur’an (Yale, 2025), and Islamic Lessons for Christians (OneWorld, 2026), explore how the Qur’an and Islamic tradition engage with the Bible and Christian thought. He brings these debates to a wider audience through his YouTube channel Exploring the Qur’an and the Bible.

Prof. Reynolds also serves on the Vatican Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue with Muslims.
