Courses

From studying mythmaking in the Ancient Near East to the theology of Thomas Aquinas, from ritual studies to the role of peacemaking in contemporary Africa, the MTS offers a broad range of courses.

Course schedules for MTS students often differ dramatically, depending upon their area of concentration and their own areas of theological interest and research. In general, students will take at least one course each semester in their area of concentration and at least one course each semester in another area of the MTS program.

Students who are required to take ancient languages will typically do so during their first year of study, and students who are concentrating in Biblical Studies will typically take two ancient language courses each semester.

All MTS students meet together for a weekly colloquium and also participate with doctoral students and faculty members in area colloquia.
