Biography
Abigail Hayton is an intellectual historian of early modern Europe with particular interests in the history of biblical scholarship and the Christian reception of Jewish texts. Her dissertation and first book project examine the vast reception of the writings of Moses Maimonides in seventeenth-century England. Her post-doctoral project considers the large-scale appropriation of Jewish scholarship to counter-Socinian purposes in the late seventeenth-century. Her work is principally concerned with the Christian study of post-biblical Jewish texts in the period 1500-1800.
