Biography
Noelle Grace Johnson is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Notre Dame in Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity and a Notebaert Premier Fellow at Notre Dame. Her focus is on Hebrew Bible and Ancient Judaism, with a minor in New Testament and Patristics. Her dissertation examines the millu'im (priestly ordination) in the Pentateuch in its Ancient Near Eastern context and its subsequent reception, especially as it relates to ancient calendars. She received the Catholic Biblical Association's Emerging Scholars Fellowship in 2023 and a Dissertation Fellowship from the Catholic Biblical Association in 2025-2026 for her work on this topic. Other research areas include text criticism, Proverbs, the minor prophets, and interactions between Origen and the Rabbis. With interests ranging from the Ancient Near East to 20th century theologies of Inspiration, she enjoys teaching on a wide array of Biblical and theological topics.
