Biography

Michon Matthiesen is an associate teaching professor and Assistant Director Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Theology. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, she taught at The University of Mary (Bismarck, ND), Providence College, and St. Patrick’s Seminary (Menlo Park, CA). Her primary teaching and research area is sacramental and liturgical theology. For four years she served on the Board of The Catholic Society of Liturgy. She is interested in the intersection of theology and literature and presently is at work on an interdisciplinary study of Envy. As a former vintner, she is an aficionado of good wine and food. She lives with her Standard Poodle, Roman.

Liturgical and sacramental theology, Eucharistic sacrifice, theology and literature, grace, ecclesiology, and Christian spirituality
