Biography

Joachim Ozonze is a doctoral student in the Theology and Peace Studies program, Kroc Institute, University of Notre Dame. His research explores the intricate connections between drug violence, addiction, and healing-justice, using ritual theories and theological ethnography as theoretical frameworks. Joachim's project aims to advance evidence-based drug response strategies that disrupt structures of human disposability and is driven by the core values of human dignity and community well-being. In his work, Joachim leverages the creative potential of digital technologies for imagining new possibilities, scaling peacebuilding initiatives, and opening spaces for empathy, healing, and reconciliation.

Joachim holds a master's degree in theological studies from the University of Notre Dame, with major concentration in Systematic Theology and minors in Gender Studies, Digital Cultures, and Peace Studies. He earned bachelors in philosophy and theology from Bigard Memorial Seminary Enugu, Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary Onitsha, and Urban University Rome.
