Biography
Aquinas Beale researches primarily the Qur'ān and late antique biblical interpretation, especially within the Syriac and rabbinic traditions. His work especially focuses on scriptural narratives and the ways they are incorporated into and interact with the broader biblical and qur'ānic texts. His current project considers the qur'anic conception of sin and guilt in relation to the broader context of late antique thought. More broadly, he is interested in the history of interreligious dialogue, comparative theology--especially regarding the nature of revelation in the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim traditions--and Christian theology of religions.
