Each year the Forschungszentrum Internationale und Interdisziplinäre Theologie (FIIT) at the University of Heidelberg honors ten younger scholars from around the world with the Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise, for work in which the theme, “God and Spirituality” has been prominent. In 2022, two recent CJA graduates are receiving this recognition: Jeremiah Coogan, currently a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of Oxford, for his dissertation, Eusebius the Evangelist (forthcoming as an Oxford University Press book); and, Justin David Strong, currently a post-doc at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, for his The Fables of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke: A New Foundation for the Study of Parables (Brill, 2021). The awards will be conferred in the Old Hall of the University of Heidelberg in a ceremony this May.
