Notre Dame, IN — The McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame announced today that it will cancel its in-person summer programming due to concerns arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation does not affect Echo summer M.A. Theology program events. Echo will conduct program courses and events remotely until a University decision is made to allow students to return to campus.
“We cherish the time we are able to spend in-person with people from across the world at our summer programs. The inability to do so this year is heartbreaking for us and we know that many people share in this sadness,” said John Cavadini, McGrath-Cavadini Director of the McGrath Institute. “We are all called to a common project right now, to protect the health and wellbeing of so many and to join together in sharing the burdens of these unusual times.”

Science & Religion Initiative Seminars, June 21-26, June 29-July 2 -
Liturgy Week, June 22–25 -
Teaching Life and Human Dignity Symposium, June 29-July 2
The Bishop D’Arcy Program in Priestly Renewal, originally scheduled for July 5-10, is postponed until the fall of 2020.
“While the cancellation of our in-person summer programs is a loss, the McGrath Institute is redoubling its commitment to serving and strengthening the Church. In the weeks and months to come, we will be developing content to provide the best resources for those who need them,” said Cavadini.
