Being Human in the Age of Humans: Perspectives on the Anthropocene
University of Chicago panelists Fredrik Albritton Jonsson (History) and David Archer (Geophysical Sciences) will be in conversation with Sarah Fredericks (Religious Ethics) to put scientific narratives about the Anthropocene in dialogue with alternative frames from history, religion, and ethics.
This workshop is part of the “Being Human in the Age of Humans” project, led by Lisa H. Sideris, Indiana University (PI); Celia Deane-Drummond, University of Notre Dame; Sarah E. Fredericks, The University of Chicago; and Kyle Powys Whyte, Michigan State University. The principal investigators are supported by the Humanities Without Walls Consortium, based at the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Humanities Without Walls Consortium is funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
