This fall’s Seminar in American Religion features Laurel Thatcher Ulrich’s A House Full of Females: Plural Marriage and Women’s Rights in Early Mormonism, 1835–1870 (Knopf, 2017). 

Commentators for this seminar are Patrick Mason of Claremont Graduate University and Linda Przybyszewski of the University of Notre Dame. 

Laurel Thatcher Ulrich is the 300th Anniversary University Professor in the Department of History at Harvard University. She received the 1991 Pulitzer Prize in history for A Midwife’s Tale: The Life of Martha Ballard, Based on Her Diary, 1785–1812 (Knopf, 1990).
