A celebration of the publication of two books on Christian social imagination by Emmanuel Katongole:

Born from Lament: The Theology and Politics of Hope in Africa, released in April 2017 by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., provides an account of hope for those enduring Africa’s endless cycles of violence, war, poverty, and displacement.

The Journey of Reconciliation: Groaning for a New Creation in Africa, released in September 2017 by Orbis books, is a collection of essays that portrays different dimensions of what it means for Christians in Africa to receive the gift and invitation of reconciliation in the midst of the stubborn realities of war, poverty and violence.

Co-sponsored by the Department of Thelogy and the Kroc Institute.

This event will be followed by a reception in the Great Hall.
