Lecture: Sanctified by the Body of Christ: Greek Scriptures in the Christian Bible

The first Christians found in Israel's scriptures a rich trove of linguistic and conceptual resources for making sense of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. That they read these sacred texts not only in Hebrew but also in Greek translation has had far-reaching consequences. As we examine the interpretation of Greek psalms in the New Testament Letter to the Hebrews, we will consider the lasting significance of Greek scriptures for the interpretation of the Christian Bible.
