Conference: The Lived History of Vatican II

Location: Notre Dame Conference Center, McKenna Hall

This international conference is the culmination of a major research project designed to produce the first comparative, international, lived history of Catholicism in the Vatican II era.

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the opening and closing of the Second Vatican Council, Notre Dame’s Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholocism enlisted researchers to write close-grained local social histories of the immediate Council era and its aftermath in fifteen select dioceses spanning six continents. A coauthored project volume will be produced after the conference.
