A joint Moral Theology and Systematic Theology Colloquium will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 4:30-6:00pm. Johannes Hoff (University of Innsbruck, Austria) will present "Trinitarian Anthropology of Technology: Re-trieving the Augustinian Tradition in a Techno-Scientific World."
Johannes Hoff is Full Professor for Christian Doctrine at the Institute of Systematic Theology of the University of Innsbruck (Austria), succeeding Karl Rahner, and Senior Research Fellow at the van Hügel Institute of University of Cambridge. His research focuses on embodied anthropology in the age of artificial intelligences, the spiritual resources of human intelligence, and the tradition of philosophical mysticism. His concept of a Trinitarian Anthropology of Technology (TTA) integrates these heterogeneous research foci. A comprehensive monograph on the anthropology of the digital transformation has appeared under the title: Verteidigung des Heiligen. Anthropologie der digitalen Transformation (Herder, 2021).
