Few people have left a greater mark on the history of China-West Exchange as Matteo Ricci, S.J., (1552-1610). As the Catholic Church considers Ricci's canonization, much of the world's attention has turned toward him to better understand the long history of China's relationship with the West.
This talk offers a new way to imagine the life and influence of Matteo Ricci, considering how his life helped inspire transformations within China, Europe, and across the entire landscape of global history.
