The Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Systematic Theology at the rank of assistant professor, with a starting date of August 2016.  Area of specialization is open, but the successful candidate will have strong research and teaching competencies in modern/contemporary Protestant theology.  An earned PhD in Theology or Religious Studies by time of appointment is required.  Besides aptitude for high-level research and writing, a successful candidate will show evidence of ability to teach a range of subjects within contemporary systematic theology at both undergraduate and graduate levels.  The successful candidate will also be sympathetic to the mission of the University of Notre Dame, which seeks a distinctive educational and scholarly excellence that is founded on its Catholic identity.  Information about Notre Dame is available at  The University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer that encourages applications from women and members of under-represented ethnic groups.
