Careers for Theology Majors

Theology majors engage in a wide variety of service activities: teaching in the ACE program or similiar programs, working with Holy Cross Associates, campus ministry (through Saint Paul's Outreach), youth ministry, L'Arche Community in Barecelona, Spain, and as Campus Ministry interns at Notre Dame.

A number of students have gone on to graduate or professional schools in a variety of fields: theology, psychology, accounting, medical school, and dental school. Some are serving in the armed forces. Several are considering vocations to the religious life.

When asked about long-term plans, students express interest in various forms of professional lay ministry, high school teaching, Catholic journalism, the religious life, law, and medicine.
