Tala Jarjour

Assistant Professor of Music, Concurrent Assistant Professor in Anthropology
Tala Jarjour comes to Notre Dame from New York University, where she was recently an assistant professor of ethnomusicology. Her Notre Dame appointment is in the Department of Music, with a concurrent appointment in the Department of Anthropology. Her work is marked by interdisciplinary study of Near Eastern repertories of sacred music, especially the chant of the Syrian Orthodox Church. Her PhD was completed at Cambridge University in 2010.
