Welcome from the Director
Summers of Study
The current Students, Faculty, Staff, Administration, and Board of Trustees invite you to consider joining the summer learning community at the University of Notre Dame to take a course(s) in Theology offered by the Department of Theology.
The M.A. Theology Program is designed to provide university-level training in theology through one of several areas of study within the Department. You may wish to pursue an M.A. degree or a Certificate in Biblical Studies, History of Christianity, Liturgical Studies, Moral Theology, Spirituality, or Systematic Theology. The Department offers one-, two- or three-week courses.
- Participate in the study and reflection on a significant Catholic theologian.
- Explore a single historical event that has significantly shaped the contemporary Catholic tradition.
- Contemplate the significance of Christ in our religiously diverse culture.
- Cultivate habits of theological reflection, nurture wise and skillful ministerial practices, and build your professional capacity while also taking time to engage in various ministerial roles, such as joining the choir, playing the organ or another instrument, or becoming a cantor.
- Reside on the beautiful Notre Dame campus and enjoy the full range of activities that the campus offers: athletic facilities including a highly ranked public golf course, musical performances, and academic conferences and lectures.
As a retreat from your daily work environment, the theology summer program at Notre Dame affords opportunities not only to nurture your intellectual growth and build your professional capacity, but also to nourish and sustain your spiritual life and to renew your imagination and energy.
